SEMA 2013: Gibson Performance Exhaust Systems Boost HP And Torque

Unless you have been asleep at the proverbial wheel, you can’t help but notice that the market for performance exhaust products has exploded. One of the aftermarket companies making performance exhaust products for a wide range of vehicles is Gibson Performance Exhaust. And this is no Johnny-come-lately.

gibson4Gibson has been making performance exhaust systems for decades to boost the horsepower and torque on everything from RVs to boats to trucks to Jeeps, and knows what the heck it’s doing.

Shawn Gibson, vice president at Gibson Performance Exhaust seen in “>video at top, also told Off Road Xtreme, “Our new 2014 GM pickup performance headers are designed to bolt up easily, add an extra kick to your engine, and are 50-state legal. And we are also offering a cat-back system that can be ordered with a choice of five different exit styles — Dual Sport, Dual Extreme, Split Rear, Single Side or Super Truck, so you can have whatever look you want.”

The Gibson Performance Header is said to deliver more low- and mid-range torque, and improve the engine’s ability to breathe, as well as offer lower operating temperatures. It’s designed as a direct replacement for the OE manifold and uses the stock crossover pipe, with no welding required for installation. The header is nickel chrome plated and ceramic coated. The cat-back system includes T-304 stainless steel slash cut rolled polished tips.

Gibson also just came out with a really hot new product for the incredibly popular Polaris Ranger RZR XP 1000 UTV. The Gibson Twin Rear Exit Exhaust (seen in the video “>above) delivers extra power and torque to your RZR with Gibson non-packed mufflers that give you performance and a nice clean sound.

This RZR exhaust system is easy to install, uses a compression-spring fitting for support to keep it from breaking during severe riding; and comes finished with a powdercoated beauty plate, black ceramic exhaust and intercooled tips. Tested for a decibel reading of 101 per SAEJ 1287 standards, it’s also a USFS Approved Spark Arrestor.
