A late race accident at the 10th annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals took out several top-ten cars and sent one car flipping wildly in turn one. It all started after a restart on lap 94 as Josh Richards led the field to green. Don O’Neal was running in the fifth position and got a good run on Jason Feger going into turn one for the fourth spot. O’Neal dives low to make the pass and slides right up the track into Feger. Feger’s late model goes into the wall and flips before coming back down on all four wheels. Feger was okay after the incident but his night was over.

The accident also ended Don O’Neal’s night and collected Dale McDowell and Scott Bloomquist who were all running in the top-ten. On the final restart Darrell Lanigan would get around Josh Richards for the lead and win the $40,000 Knoxville Late Model Nationals victory. This great video of the accident gives us a perfect view of what happened between O’Neal and Feger. O’Neal gets a great run on Feger then things get ugly in a hurry. Did O’Neal try a slide job and come up short? Was this just good hard racing between two drivers late in a huge event? Did O’Neal just plain dump Feger in the corner? Watch the video and give us your take on what happened.
