The very first 2014 Chevy Corvettes are on their way to dealerships all over North America, though a handful of performance shops have already gotten early access to the 21st century Stingray. This includes Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, which has teased us with video of its development of the Corvette’s new LT1 V8 engine.

Now Lingenfelter has put the whole car on the dyno, and the results are about what we expected based on prior dyno videos. Still, we’re not tired of seeing the new Corvette on the rollers, and we doubt you are either.

Edmunds was the first to put a 2014 Corvette C7 on the dyno, and they came away with 411 horsepower and 408 pound-feet of torque at the rear wheels. That puts the Corvette C7 right where it should be with the 455 horsepower rating from the LT1 engine. But when Lingenfelter put the Corvette on the dyno, they came away with an even-better 416 horsepower and 416 pound-feet of torque at the rear wheels.

So GM has the horsepower numbers pretty much nailed down, but for us this video isn’t about power numbers; it’s all about the sound of that sweet 6.2 liter LT1 engine. While it sounds impressively sexy on the engine dyno, through the Corvette’s well-tuned exhaust the LT1 engine sounds even better. We could listen to this V8 song all day if the bosses allowed it, and we can’t wait to hear the new Corvette unleash its LT1 engine on the open road.
