What does it take to be a Pro-Class racer for the Goodguys AutoCross? Well, for Kyle Tucker, co-owner of Detroit Speed, it’s all about impressive driving skills and good parts for your car. DSE’s development cars, like the ’66 Mustang Tucker recently took down to the 13th Del Mar Nationals, are just the kind to show ‘em how it’s done. DSE takes their goals seriously, so seriously that Kyle and Stacy Tucker designate specific cars to be development cars. These specially-chosen vehicles are then fitted with DSE’s latest components to test and perfect. The 1966 Mustang owned by DSE is no different and has been used by the company to develop and test all of their classic Mustang offerings.

You don’t have to be a die-hard car nut to know Detroit Speed’s reputation but with the Stang development car on the AutoCross course at the Del Mar Nationals earlier this month, the Tuckers proved their products to be  top-of-the-line once again. After all, you don’t become two of the most well-known Pro-Class AutoCross drivers with parts that won’t stand up to the heat.
