The recent re-release of the ever beloved Z/28 Camaro has seemed to temporarily set the car world ablaze. Folks received the recent remodel of the Z/28 quite well. Similarly, the more we learn about it, the more intrigued we here at LSXMag become about the debut of this monster.

GM has managed to make that fierce Camaro snarl, even more aggressive.

As you probably already know the reborn muscle car features an LS7, which pumps out more ponies than any other naturally aspirated engine in GM’s arsenal. When you combine that with a nearly 300 pounds of shed weight in comparison to other fifth gen Camaros and a redesigned suspension, you’ll have nothing short of a bonafide track car.

That was exactly what GM was looking for with their newest creation. John Fitzpatrick, Chevrolet’s performance division marketing manager, even goes as far as saying that the new Z is the “best performing track car ever, for a Camaro.” From what we’ve seen thus far we have no problem believing that the car will flawlessly support his claims.

The main idea behind the design of fifth generation Z/28 is to truly get back to the car’s roots of competing in the SCCA. The car was engineered to, “dominate on the track and be street legal,” says Fitzpatrick. The driver will basically be able to drive it off of the showroom floor and on to the race track. If you are searching for raw power and a true grassroots motorsports experience, then the 2014 Camaro Z/28 is exactly your cup of tea.
