When the racing season quiets down here in the States during the winter, the majority of sprint car drivers flock to Australia to feed their racing addiction. In December and January Australia is where you want to be if you want to see dramatic wheel to wheel racing before the season kicks back off in the United States.
Ian Black was one of the drivers that made the trip overseas and unfortunately started the New Year off in horrible and terrifying fashion at Sydney Speedway.
Black appeared to be making a cross-over on a rival driver when he clipped the berm and entered into a series of flips. In total, we counted nine flips before it came to rest against the fence. The terrifying midget crash resulted in Black being transported to a local hospital. He was released the following day. Just look at what the damage did to his sprinter!
