Dirt track racing has an incredibly broad appeal, with fans in every corner of the country cheering and jeering for their favorite racers. With such a diverse crowd of both fans and racers, it can be difficult to condense an entire season of racing into just a single brief YouTube video…difficult, but surely not impossible, as this slickly-produced video shows.
This video was edited together for the 57th annual USAC Night of Champions, a banquet celebrating all the champions from the past season of dirt track racing.
Now normally, dirt track racing and the latest musical phenomenon known as “dubstep”, occupy very different cultural regions. But in this video, compiled mostly of footage from our friends at LoudPedal, the two cultural opposites come together in four minutes of dirt track magnificence. The dubstep music goes especially well with the slow-motion scenes, giving us an up-close look at the insanity that goes on mid-race.
From the sliding through the dirt on three wheels to the bursts of flame erupting from the engine, this video really gets to the heart of dirt track racing. It is extremely well-edited (big props to Tim Truex) and even if dubstep music isn’t your thing, we think you’ll find plenty to like in this 4 minutes of visual awesomeness.
