2010 Formula Drift Champ Vaughn Gittin Jr. has been able to live out his dreams and ambitions thanks to his performance on the track. At the top of his list was creating his own version of the Mustang that is as good on the street as it is on the track. The Mustang RTR is Vaughn Gittin Jr’s baby, and it announces itself with a set of custom mufflers that tie the whole package together.

Performance Autosport, which campaigns their own RTR in the NASA American Iron Championship, recently put its Mustang RTR on the dyno to demonstrate the power and the sound these custom mufflers deliver.

The Mustang RTR package comes in several flavors, though the base package is what we’re working with here. In addition to exterior upgrades that include front and rear spoilers, new wheels and RTR badges, the Spec 1 Mustang RTR gets the aforementioned custom mufflers and a 1-inch lowering kit as well. We think the Mustang RTR looks best in white, and Performance Autosport agrees, putting this white-and-black example up for tuning on its dyno.

True to Gittin’s word, the custom mufflers (which are engraved with the RTR emblem) deliver up to 10 horsepower extra over stock. Performance Autosport recorded wheel horsepower ratings of 372 ponies and 364 ft-lbs of torque just from the muffler upgrades. But the real selling point is the sound, which Performance Autosport showcases at the end of the video. Make sure you crank up the volume, because these mufflers make a major difference in how the Mustang announces itself. You’ve been warned.
