It isn’t easy being the mother of a gearhead, or at least we assume given all the strife we put our own mothers through. After all, how many mothers enjoy the sound of engines roaring at 2am, or knowing that their sons are out on the street in powerful muscle cars like the Ford Mustang, getting into who-knows-what kind of trouble. Hell, we know some moms who won’t even step into their kids garages, so terrified are they of the cars that lurk within.

Yet one YouTuber managed to convince mommy dearest to ride shotgun with him in his 600 horsepower Mustang Cobra. The result is a hilarious video where mother gets the ride of her life, and sonny boy gets a good laugh.

The car in question is one of the infamous 2003-04 “Terminator” Mustang Cobras, which left the factory with a supercharged 4.6 liter engine under the hood. These cars respond famously well to modifications, and making 600 horsepower is no big deal if you know what you’re doing. The car reportedly puts 592 ponies down at the wheels. That’s a lot of power, probably more power than all the cars mom has ever owned, combined.

No wonder her reaction is gleeful terror; while she screeches in horror as the Cobra driver smashes the throttle, she is definitely laughing and smiling in between the “OHMYGAWD” and “NONONONO!” Mom describes the feeling as being on a roller coaster in the post-drive interview. That is probably a pretty apt description of being an unwilling passenger in such a vicious vehicle.
