Right off the car hauler, the C6 Z06 is the most track ready Chevrolet you can buy. But that didn’t stop Australia’s Harrop Engineering from making a good thing better; they took their 2009 C6 Z06 and prepped it for the Clubsprint class at World Time Attack Challenge. Harrop added a few select bolt-on’s to the already potent factory 7.0L LS7 engine – most obvious was the Hurricane 8-throttle-body manifold, and along with additional performance upgrades this bumped the power from the 505 factory horsepower rating to an imposing 670 horsepower, with the torque remaining steady throughout the powerband. While the engine mods include a slightly more aggressive camshaft, a custom airbox and an Akrapovic exhaust, Harrop’s Z06 still utilizes the stock exhaust manifolds, GM computer, and the factory fly-by-wire system, proving this is really is a bolt-on car.

Harrop’s Corvette also features a host of suspension, braking and safety items to make the most of the grip on the track without subjecting the car to significant modifications. This Z06 features lightweight Forgeline GA1R wheels wrapped in Michelin rubber of the same type found on the Dodge Viper and Porsche Carrera GT3; the front wheels utilize 315/30/18 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires while the rear benefits from the slightly wider 345/30/18 tires. 

Racing seats are upholstered to match the rest of the interior and the driver is held in place with a 6-point harness. During the first part of the competition, Ben Schoots pulled a 1:4208 time on the track, but the guys were hoping to achieve a 1:41 that would hopefully land them on the podium at the conclusion of the event. Thanks to hard work and an eye for details, Harrop’s Z06 looks as great as it performs on the track, and the video provides viewers with chance to hear the beast’s roar under acceleration that is guaranteed to bring out the inner hoon in all of us.
