For those who witnessed it, lived through it, or were affected by it, September 11th, 2001 will live on in the memories of individuals across the world. It is the day that America stood still in the wake of terrorist attacks that rocked this country and, shortly thereafter, propelled us into a global military effort against terrorism that continues to this day.

Although it’s been 11 years since the twin towers fell, the Pentagon was hit and American Flight 93 went down in Pennsylvania, the memory of that day lives on and one retired Marine is doing his part to keep it that way through his ‘92 Corvette convertible. The C4 “Marine Corps-Vette” is the project of former marine David Sommerdorf. An evangelist, Sommerdorf travels the country in the tribute Corvette encouraging people to remember the victims of September 11th, honoring our troops and spreading his religious views. Sommerdorf was in Battery Park in New York on September 11th to share his moving memorial.

The Corvette is wrapped with patriotic images, including the American flag that spans both sides of the car, the picture of the flag raising in Iwo Jima and the complimentary picture of the flag raising at Ground Zero. Between the two flag raising images on the hood is an image depicting the Twin Towers at night prior to the terrorist attacks. Under the hood is the list of individuals who died in the September 11th tragedy.

This Corvette is an amazing tribute car and worth taking a look at if you ever see it in your area. Of all the tribute cars we’ve come across, we haven’t seen one quite like this.
