The annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb brings a unique challenge to drivers as the must negotiate both dirt and pavement sections on the way to the summit of the mountain.  A slight mistake can quickly turn into a huge accident as guardrails are in short supply and huge drop offs are the norm when you leave the road.

In the 2012 edition of the hill climb first time driver Jeremy Foley and his co-driver found out the hard way what happens when you make a mistake on the mountain.  At mile 16 of the hill climb Foley missed a corner and his Mitsubishi Evo 8 left the road down a rocky embankment.  The race car rolled down the embankment as body panels and parts fly everywhere but the roll cage seems to remain in one piece.  Both drivers were air-lifted to a local hospital where according to reports both drivers escaped without so much as a broken bone.  Theses drivers were very lucky as the invested in a great roll cage that likely saved both of their lives.
