As the cooler months of the fall approach, the calendar begins to fill with upcoming events. Along with those events comes the opportunity for that celebrated rite of personal travel, the “road trip.” Whether traveling with friends and family or going it alone, a road trip offers opportunities to explore, to contemplate and to experience new places and meet new people. Judging by this video of some Australian hot rodders making their way to Meguiar’s Motorex 2012 held in Sydney, these sensations are experienced internationally.
This video is a segment of a full-length DVD produced by mz”>Bandit Films and available on the Fuel Tank TV website. It definitely captures the flavor of the situation surrounding these particular hot rodders. Last minute late-night preparations, the loading of the trailers and other transport vehicles, and footage of the trip as it progressed are chronicled while “Greasy Hair” is performed in the background by the Flatfoot Shakers. Although the people and places in the video will be unknown to anyone who’s never visited the land down under, the theme that runs through the video is something that most auto enthusiasts have experienced firsthand!
Road trips can be either amazing odysseys or damned nuisances! Like many things we experience, the amount of pleasure derived generally depends on your particular view of the situation. Judging by the expressions on their faces, the folks in the video were certainly enjoying themselves.
No matter how you travel to your chosen event, appreciate the journey as much as the destination. Just keep the tunes playing and the conversation lively. Under those circumstances the miles and time seem to melt away!
