Even though it feels like spring in many parts of the U.S. right now, Punxsutawney Phil says we are still in for another eight weeks of winter. The first event of the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association is still about six weeks away too. Until then many of us will be busy fixing up our hot rods and muscle cars for the 20 scheduled shows put on by the Goodguys this year.

Lucky for us, Route 2 Media put together a five-minute video from one of the last Goodguys events of 2011, the Southwest Nationals. Over 2,500 cars and tens of thousands of spectators turned out to check out one of the premier custom car shows in the world.

No Goodguys show could ever be adequately covered in a scant five minutes, there are just too many cars, too many events, and too many places to be. But that’s not to say this isn’t a good video. Quite the contrary, Route 2 Media has put together a beautiful montage of the event set to some appropriately peppy music that doesn’t drown out the power or elegance of the cars on display.

Goodguys events are something special, and we think this video really helps convey that message. There are 20 scheduled Goodguys events this year, kicking off with the 3rd Spring Nationals in Scottsdale, Arizona March 9th-11th, the same place that the 2012 Southwest Nationals will be held. powerTV will be there too, so keep an eye out for us as we brings you all day-of coverage of the happenings at the first Goodguys event of 2012.
