This Twin-Engine Ford Aerostar Van Tank Monster Truck Can Be Yours!

Spend enough time browsing online and you can eventually find absolutely anything. Case in point, this ostentatious twin-engine Ford Aerostar van on tracks. Named “Overtime Traxx,” this legit monster truck is for sale for just $92,000 right now on RacingJunk.com.

While there’s not a ton of details about the vehicle listed in the ad, sort of an “if you know, you know” type of situation, there’s plenty to be found on Monster Truck Fandom. This truck began life as a 1990 Ford Aerostar. The vehicle was originally built by Loren Puyear in 1987. It rocked two Chevrolet engines and a Chevrolet van body. Fast forward a few years and Bob Chandler, of Bigfoot fame, purchased the truck. Chandler’s team shortened the truck by about a foot, replaced the Chevrolet body with that of a Ford Econoline, and swapped the engines out for Ford units. It was eventually given the name “Fastrax” and the Econoline body was swapped for the current Aerostar.

More Than A Monster Truck

Fastrax would regularly compete in the monster truck circuit against other tracked vehicles. On occasion it would be put up against traditional monster trucks, including Bigfoot at the Pontiac Silverdome. Fastrax participated in several long-jump stunt attempts along with a stunt that saw the vehicle run through a shell of a Dodge or Chevrolet monster truck. During one long-jump attempt at the Indianapolis Jamboree, Bob Chandler re-injured his back. After this the truck was relegated mainly to that of a display vehicle and was eventually sold to Chandler Lloyd, who renamed it to Overtime Traxx.

Currently, the truck has retained its Ford Aerostar body but has swapped the powertrain back to a pair of 572-cubic-inch big block Chevy V8s with 871 blowers. In theory, these engines should produce about 1,200 horsepower a piece. The truck allegedly weighs 20,000 pounds, which is far more than the 12,000 pounds of today’s typical Monster Jam truck. Unlike a Monster Jam truck, however, this specimen offers seating for two in its sparsely outfit utilitarian cockpit.

The ad goes on to say that the truck has recently been restored by former monster truck racer “Overtime,” and that the Overtime Traxx name does not go with the vehicle. Numerous spare parts come as part of the package, and delivery is available. Though, we’ve got to figure that won’t come cheap.

Located in Ridgeland, South Carolina, this amazing unit is up for just $92,000. Which is a relative steel for a legitimate monster truck with Bigfoot pedigree. While that price is down from the $105,000 it was offered for almost five years ago, there appear to be more than 160,000 views on the listing. So, if you want it, it’s worth acting fast. Or, perhaps just pickup this old-school monster truck instead, it looks plenty fun as well.
