What do you get when a brand new Jeep JLU 392 Wrangler goes in for extensive modifications at one of Texas’ leading off-road shops? If you are Dawson Druesedow, the vehicle owner, and also the proprietor of Wichita Falls-based 4 Wheel Performance, you build a totally awesome custom-built one-of-a-kind 392!
We caught up with Dawson earlier this year during our Easter Jeep Safari 2022 adventures and he was proud to show off the freshly built rig. Off Road Xtreme is very impressed with the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. All top-shelf components were used and this really was put together with no-expenses-spared. The result is a 4 Wheel Performance flagship vehicle that turns heads.
4-Wheel Performance Big Blue JLU 392 Is Not Just For Show
While out on the SEMA’s Truck and Off-Road Alliance (TORA) organized Behind The Rocks trail run, Druesedow and the squad found a fun little sand dune recreation area The group managed to shred some sand and to my surprise, Dawson was really getting after it. Carving up the side of the bowl at full throttle got the Jeep working through the EVO Manufacturing suspension system.
Pushing the 392 v8-powered Hemi across the dune he even found a little sender to catch some air. The King Shock coilovers ate through the uneven terrain and bumped stomps soaked it all up without issue. 40-inch Toyo Open Country M/T Tires wrapped on 20-inch American Force Beadlock wheels handled the extreme abuse.
4 Wheel Performance 392 was indeed putting on a show and getting the onlooker’s nod of approval. I will admit after driving behind this thing for a few hours on the trail, the last thing I expected was to see it airborne!
Speaking of thrilling crowds, Dawson registered the 4 Wheel Performance 392 for the Summer Truckin Nationals show which took place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on July 15th-17th 2022. The Jeep earned a prestigious best-in-class (JEEP) award for 4 Wheel Performance’s meticulous build efforts.
The build started in July of 2021 with most of the modifications taking place in-house at 4 Wheel Performance. The build team consisted of Dawson Druesedow, Jeremy Nichols, and Jesse Smith. Only paint and powder coat was handled offsite by reputable vendors.
Coming up next for the 4 Wheel Performance 392, Druesedow will have it on display at the 2022 SEMA Show in the Bodyguard Bumpers Booth #56163.
