Working with an engine builder helped ARP make better bolts. Engine builders, hot rodders, off-roaders, and mechanics have often been those who invent, engineer, and produce or make better countless automotive parts, pieces, and systems. One of those is Brian Crower, owner and founder of Brian Crower Inc, also known as runBC. His company offers stroker kits for dozens of automotive applications, including some power-building applications like the runBC stroker kits for the fast-growing ATV/UTV market. Custom ARP kits co-engineered for runBC also include unique applications like its Polaris RZR roll cage, suspension, and shock fastener kit being shown in the video above.

ARP by runBC hardware keeps it all together. Here is a 350-horsepower D&M Racing XP Turbo build. It features a BC stroker kit and valvetrain, TPR ported head, and Garrett turbo.
If the name Crower sounds familiar, it’s because Brian grew up at Crower Cams. While there, he ran the marketing department, started the sport compact division, and eventually left to do his own thing. Brian said, “Starting runBC allowed us to enhance sport compact offerings over the past 15 years, and for the past year, we’ve been testing a new program that focuses on developing parts for the SxS segment. Our relationship with ARP equips us to develop parts for loads of applications. These include developing head and main studs for UTVs. We’re also developing BC-exclusive parts like wheel studs, roll cage bolts, suspension, and other products.”
Crower also developed other exclusive products with ARP, including roll cage bolts, suspension, shock, and brake fasteners, as well as engine studs. Brian worked closely with them, supplying them with R&D engines, when creating the runBC stroker kits for some of the ATV/UTV engines (Polaris XP, Can-Am X3/Rotax 900, and Yamaha YXZ) applications.
The result of that collaboration was an upgrade to ARP2000 alloy that’s heat treated to 200,000 p.s.i. for certain customers’ “custom” head studs. ARP bolts in a premium Custom Age 625+ material (280,000 p.s.i.) for severe-duty applications are also available exclusively through runBC. In addition, working with runBC prompted ARP to make stock replacement case bolts that aren’t torque to yield, so they can be used multiple times before needing replacement.
