PRW Industries’ Bolt-On Bushed LS Rocker Arm Upgrade

The LS engines are a pretty serious piece of engineering when it comes to power and reliability. However, like any engine, its days are numbered as it starts to get up in milage. One area that is prone to failure is the needle bearings in the rocker arms. Since the bearings are non-captured, things can get messy when they decide to come apart. The result can be needle bearing displaced all through the engine, which is never a good thing.

Here is a good look at the bronze bushing and upgraded fulcrum along with the installation tool and hardware for the conversion.

Several companies, including PRW Industries, offer a fulcrum upgrade bushing conversion kit to replace the factory bearing in the rocker arms. These kits require some work as you will need to disassemble the OEM rockers and then rebuild them using a supplied tool and a vice. While this process is pretty easy, not everyone has the means at their disposal. So, PRW took it a step further for the individual looking for a better than stock solution without spending all of their hard-earned cash on a high-end set of aftermarket rockers.

The new LS rocker from PRW is a simple bolt-on upgrade with a new cast steel LS rocker arm. These units are designed for the 4.8-liter engines all the way up to the 6.2-liter. These rockers offer a 1.7 ratio and include 16 OEM-style cast alloy pedestal mount rocker arms with 12-point hardware.
