We have a question for you. When you hear the word “sweepstakes,” what is the first thing that comes to your mind? More often than not, you are probably thinking to yourself, “no one you actually know” ever wins one of these things, right?

Well, this next video from AmericanMuscle might just make you rethink the next time you ask yourself that question.

You may remember back in April of last year when the team at AmericanMuscle announced their Street versus Strip giveaway. The giveaway, which was sponsored by Rovos Wheels and C&L Performance, gave Mustang enthusiasts the chance to win $15,000 in parts for your late-model Mustang.

This month, AmericanMuscle announced that Carlos from Palm Harbor, Florida, was the big sweepstakes winner! Carlos was utterly blown away when he had found out he had won the Street versus Strip top prize. He decided to use the $15,000 towards a proper “Strip” build.

“I actually didn’t believe it when AmericanMuscle told me I had won,” said Carlos. “It was a dream come true to get more than 600 horsepower in my car. I can’t wait to get it done and drive it.”

In the past, Carlos had only dreamed of making the jump to boost. When he found out he was the lucky winner, he wanted to install a system that was big on power without losing its drivability on the street.

The team at AmericanMuscle recommended installing a Roush Supercharger kit along with supporting and suspension mods to take his car to that next level of performance.

Enlisting The Help Of  VMP Performance

Because Carlos lives in Florida, the team at AmericanMuscle enlisted the help of VMP Performance to make his dream build a reality.

When the car arrived, the team went right to work installing all of the upgrades onto Carlos’s ride. And once the installation was complete, VMP strapped his Shadow Black S550 onto the dyno to see what kind of power these upgrades added to an otherwise stock vehicle.

“The car made 609 rear-wheel horsepower on the dyno, which is over 700 horsepower at the crank,” said Justin Starkey, President of VMP Performance. “This thing is like a rocket!”

After the dyno and safety checks were performed on the vehicle by the team at VMP, it was time for Carlos to experience the upgrades firsthand.

Justin and Carlos headed out for a test drive, and let’s just say that Carlos was definitely at a loss for words. The video also puts a smile on our face to see an everyday Mustang enthusiast like Carlos get picked as the overall winner of this contest.
