Mike Yager started Mid America Motorworks literally selling parts out of the trunk of his car as a way to pay for trips to car shows, and over the years he’s built the company into a leader in Corvette parts by finding the restoration pieces, performance parts, and accessories that Vette owners want. The company is always on the lookout for new items to add to their extensive and always-growing catalog, and we got to see a few of the latest here at the SEMA show.
These C6 leather and Alcantra seat covers are a perfect example of an item unique to Mid America Motorworks. Part of their in house Performance Choice brand, they combine style and function by pairing genuine leather and the Italian synthetic Alcantra, which is perfect for high-wear, high contact areas. If your factory seats have seen better days, or you’d just like to update the look of your interior, check out these covers.
If, on the other hand, you’d like to keep your stock seats protected, easily cover stains or wear, or just stay cool and comfortable in summer and warm in winter, then Mid America Motorworks’ neoprene slip-on seat covers are the ticket. They’re simple and quick to install, featuring a velcro closure system, and incorporate “blow out” panels in the sides to match your seats’ side impact airbags.
Multiple combinations of colors are available, as well as embroidered logos or plain headrest sections. The material is UV resistant and designed with extra padding for comfort.
Another popular item in the Mid America Motorworks catalog are console covers, but until just recently, changing out the cover meant installing the new one yourself over your factory base. For those interested in extra convenience, the covers are now available pre-mounted to OEM bases, making a cover change as simple as unscrewing the existing one and swapping in the new unit.
One area where Mid America Motorworks excels is filling a need for parts that are no longer in production from the factory, or simply unavailable as new old stock. This C4 storage compartment door might not be the sexiest-looking item in the catalog, but if you’re looking to replace your damaged interior and can’t find this factory part anywhere because it simply doesn’t exist any more, this will be a sight for sore eyes.
Made to exact OEM specifications, Mid America Motorworks has precisely reproduced the GM part and made it available once more. These are just a tiny sample of the thousands upon thousands of items in their catalog and available through their website – if you need it for your Corvette, chances are that they have it, and if they don’t, ask them to start making it!
