SEMA 2011: Dakota Digital VHX Instrument Gauges

Blasting into our viewing pleasure is Dakota Digital’s new line of VHX Instrument Gauges and clusters. They’ve really thought of everything you’ll need to outfit your dash with all of the correct components.

With 25 years in the business, Dakota has done their homework; making sure each VHX system is as simple and pain-free to install as the factory one was to pull out. Dakota’s VHX Series utilizes an outboard control module, which offers several benefits, including simplicity. Instead of bringing bundles of wiring directly to the instruments, the harness will be routed to the control module, which can be tucked away or centralized in a convenient under-dash location.

With a simple network cable, the entire system can be connected, which eliminates connector clutter. Sensor packages are also available and include laboratory-grade solid state sensors for accuracy, as well as a 12-ft harness with weather-proof connections to make installation a snap, literally.

The VHX Series relies on a traditional analog style display and includes indicators for turn signals, high beam, parking  brake, check engine, and cruise control. Really, the options and features are endless and nearly make any late-model jealous. Each VHX  Series instrument cluster also includes a nifty gear shift indicator, notifying the driver within the LCD message center.

Of course, the VHX Series wouldn’t be complete without an entirely new fall line up, which debuted at SEMA just hours ago. This year, Dakota is offering the VHX line for ’49-50 Chevy passenger cars, 59’60 Impala, ’68 Chevelle, ’70-81 Camaro, and ’82-89 Camaro. Not leaving the truck guys out to pasture, VHX Series are also available for ’55-87 Chevy trucks, and for ’66-77 Ford Bronco/’61-66 pickup.

For their entire line up of digital gauges, accessories, and add-ons, be sure to check out dakotadigital.com for additional information and application guides.

New for this year is the VHX Series for '66-77 Bronco's with applications for '61-66 Ford pickups, too.
