Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last year, you’ve probably heard of Hoonigan and seen something from their YouTube channel. For about the last year or so, they have featured a ton of awesome off-road trucks, ranging from short-course trucks to trophy trucks, to daily driven prerunners. As time has gone on, the drivers have become increasingly wild, and now it’s expected for them to jump their trucks anytime they’re featured on the show. On this episode of Build Breakdown, the Hoonigans invited Danny Giannini from Terra Crew to come to show off and shred his 2004 Silverado prerunner.

The truck is street-legal prerunner that Danny built to do a little bit of everything. A lot of the larger suspension components are used parts off of trophy trucks. Some of the pieces, like the massive Fox 4.5-inch bypass shocks, might be a little overkill for the truck, but used parts are cheap so you might as well go big, like Danny did. Danny ditched the Chevy A-arm suspension in the front for an I-beam setup. The back half of the truck is a tube chassis with linked suspension providing a ton of travel. Under the hood is an L9H Chevy truck engine, which is a simple LS9 camshaft which outputs around 450 horsepower. Of course, keeping everything inside the cab safe is a nice big roll cage.

Unlike previous trucks on the show, Danny didn’t do any donuts. Instead, he hit the jumps in the opposite direction that most drivers do, barely stopped before hitting one of the shipping containers, and then did a massive burnout by using the shipping container as his brakes. He quite literally started to melt the asphalt, because the burnout was so long and in the same spot the entire time. Talk about badass!
